There’s no need to rush in the morning or stay up late at night. The park in the evening is just the right place for a leisurely date. Meeting at the park entrance at 6:30, carrying the freshly bought ice cream cone, the crispy sound of the cone and the gentle evening breeze meet each other.
First, walk slowly along the path by the lake. He will naturally take the ice cream cone wrapper from your hand. When you finish eating, he will magically take out a wet tissue from his pocket. The setting sun colors the clouds orange-pink, and it falls on the lake, like scattering a handful of golden dust. Occasionally, a dragonfly flies over the water, and you stop, together counting the ripples that rise. Even the silence has a sweet flavor.
He sat down on a bench by the lawn and just happened to catch the old men flying kites. The colorful kites were floating in the twilight. He pointed at the tallest one and said, “Doesn’t it look like the cartoon cat you mentioned last time?” You smiled and nodded. Taking out the oranges he had prepared from his bag, he broke off a piece and handed it to him. The sweet and sour juice spread in his mouth.
The sky gradually darkened, and the street lamps one by one came on. You walked towards the exit under the light and shadow, passing by a small stand selling cotton candy. He pulled you to stop and bought you a pink one. The cotton candy was soft and stuck to your lips. He reached out and gently wiped it off with his fingers, and the warmth of his fingertips was warmer than the evening breeze.
As they were approaching the park entrance, he said, “Next time, let’s bring a picnic blanket. How about watching the stars?” You nodded while biting on a lollipop, looking into his eyes which shone brighter than the newly appeared stars in the sky.
In fact, a good date doesn’t need to be complicated. As long as you are with the right person, even the evening park is filled with tenderness.
